Summary: The host communicated well with us and overall we had a good stay but there are a few things that prevent this place from being a 5 star review: 1) one of the toilets had been used when we arrived but not flushed. When we went to flush it, water sprayed from the back and we noticed it was completely disconnected from the ground. We were told they would fix it after we left, but we did expect there to be an offer to fix it sooner since it was immediately upon our 3 night check-in and being down a toilet can be a bit stressful. 2) all furniture and bedding comforters are sprayed down with febreeze which is very strong smelling and got on our clothing. The bedding should perhaps be cleaned instead of febreezed and maybe it is, but it doesn't smell fresh at least due to the febreeze. 3) the listing indicates there is a carbon monoxide detector but there didnt seem to be a working one when we arrived. We found one without batteries on top of the washer and found batteries from one of the games in the basement to use and that worked OK. I suggest the older style smoke detectors upstairs are replaced with dual smoke/carbon monoxide. 4) There is a big push in all the host instructions to only review if giving 5 stars and only providing constructive feedback in the private comments, but a certain amount of this could lead to guests not getting the full picture of their potential stay.
