Our camp philosophy is that "it is small, but it has everything you need!" The Blue Roost is a charming camp that looks out onto Green’s Bay, a part of Higley Flow reservoir and the Racquette River. If you are visiting the area for anything college or university related we are 13 miles from Canton, NY and 12 miles from Potsdam, NY. If you are visiting for sun, water, relaxation, and camp life you are in the right place!
This tiny 3 story A-frame camp is right on the water! We are located in the foothills of the Adirondacks. This is usually a seasonal camp that opens Memorial weekend but we are opening early this year due to the Solar Eclipse.
As you come down the hill past my she-shed, there are two decks. The first deck is for outside seating and camp fires. The second deck is covered for grilling and dining. The main level has the kitchen, bathroom, and additional coffee nook and dining area. If you climb a small later you will be in the loft. It has 1 twin bed and one queen bed for guests. You will also find a spiral staircase that takes you down to the living room, bedroom, and screened in patio overlooking the water. Then there is a small deck and dock for sitting in the sun!
Guests have access to the decks, camp, patio, grill, and kayaks on site. Please do not enter the she-shed, it is storage. Dressers downstairs are for guests and there is under the bed storage for guests in the loft.
This is a seasonal camp for those who love the water and outdoor recreation. The camp is surrounded by trees therefore pine needles, pine cones, and leaves are to be expected. The camp has a sandy waterfront and is surrounded by sand so expect sandy feet. If you are looking for a more simple way of life on the water this is the place for you.
