Our guest home is nestled in the Catskills, yet just a mile from Phoenicia's Main Street. Stony Clove Retreat is directly across the road from Stony Clove Creek, a wonderful place to cool off in the summer. Whether you are here for fall foliage, enjoying a ski week, or need a home base while hiking the Catskills, our cottage is the perfect place to call home. Spend time in this eclectic, artsy, tight-knit community and you'll see why Phoenicia was named one of the coolest small towns in America.
The guest cottage impresses with a soaring ceiling and lots of light in the main room, transitioning to a dining area and retro chic kitchen. Take in the woodland paradise out back and enjoy the walking/cross-country ski trail through the woods.
We have a well-stocked kitchen to prepare farm-fresh meals on the gas stove with oven, and the propane grill on the deck is there for your use. There is a French press or drip coffee maker for you to enjoy your morning coffee. Coffee, tea, spices and olive oil are all provided. A range of wonderful local restaurants are a quick drive away.
The cottage has one bedroom with a comfortable queen bed. The living room has a queen sleep sofa, along with radiant floor heating to keep your toes warm in the winter. The bathroom floor was hand laid with stones from the creek across the road, and maintains its vintage fixtures, including a Ming Jadeite tub. Enjoy the large back deck or expansive yard for dining, lounging, and stargazing in summer, or even in the winter, keeping warm around the fire pit.
We are an easy drive to Woodstock and four ski centers — Belleayre, Plattekill, Hunter, and Windham, and endless hiking opportunities. Perfect for a family of four, a couple, or a friends' retreat!
