Close to Great Barrington, Tanglewood, Hudson and worlds of fine dining.
The space
The loft is accessed via a small enclosed entry room, off of which is a door to the upstairs that's locked with a keyless lock. Ascend a short flight of stairs and you arrive in a spacious open concept living, dining and kitchen area with TV, skylights, closets and a cozy wood stove. The slip covered sofa has a pull-out mattress large enough for a small child (but not another adult). The kitchen has a good-sized island, stove, frig, sink, microwave + plenty of dishes, glasses, silverware, pots, pans, utensils and a pantry closet. Dine either at the island or at a small round wooden table with 3 chairs. To the left is an inviting bedroom with a queen sized bed, table, lamp, closet and skylight . Bedding includes all linens and towels, cotton blanket in the summer and down comforter for the rest of the year. The full bathroom with a shower has another skylight. Heat in the loft is electric.

When it's not rented, the owner stays in this unit from time to time. It is well furnished and appointed .

Guests can access a driveway and 1 space in the garage; the loft; the grassy lawn; a small pond (not for swimming); a fire pit (on the side of the pond); 5 acres of woods; and, a designated section of the outdoor porch, with bistro table, 2 chairs and a small Webber charcoal grill.

The two structures -- chalet and garage with loft above it-- are connected through a room called the connector. This serves as the sole entry to the loft and as a rear entry to the chalet.

The chalet may be rented to another party while guests are in the loft. The connector provides adequate separation so that you won’t have to see (or hear) guests in the chalet, or they you. And there are secure keyless locks to prevent anyone from entering anyone else’s space uninvited.
